Dogs of Our Lives: A Sleepover & a Story

Lynn, it's so quiet here. Nothing is happening. You just sit at your sewing machine and Craig just works on his computer. I miss Tammo. It's okay, Pep. He'll be back in the morning. He is just having a sleepover with Nashie and Mama. But why? Why did he go and not me? Sweetie, it's an Arctic tundra out in our yard right now. When you go outside (IF you go outside), you do the ol' squirt and scurry, and then run back inside and go back to snuggling in bed. Tammo wants to run, and he can't do that here, at least not right now. So Lisa invited him to come over to her house. He can use her dog door to go in and out at will, plus he is helping Nash who is also a little bored with all "this indoor stuff." (Nash's words, Pep, not mine.) How about I show you some pictures from the sleepover? Would that make you feel a little less lonely? I'll fix you a peanut butter Kong and we can sit together on the couch and look at them together, all right? A peanu...

Dogs of Our Lives: Molly & the Wooly Worm Prediction

:: Heard off in the distance::  Grammy? Hey, Graaaaammmyyy! Where are you? Ah, here you are! We've been looking everywhere for you. Gosh, we should have checked here first - you seem to spend a lot of time in this room. Don't be rude, Nash. She doesn't have a doggy door so she uses the tiny room instead of the back yard. Now, let me tell her our concerns. Okay, Molly. I'll just listen in, though, to be sure you tell her everything she needs to know. That's fine, Nash. Anyway, Grammy, we are concerned about the weather. It is all wrong according to the prediction we saw last fall. Prediction? What do you mean, Mama? And could we have this conversation elsewhere? After I am finished in here, please?? :: Several minutes pass and Grammy emerges from the tiny room.:: Now, tell me about this weather prediction that you believe is wrong, Mama. Well, remember that wooly bear we found last Fall at the park? According to trustworthy wooly bear sources, its coat predicted an a...

Dogs of Our Lives: Naptime (of a Sort)

Ahhh! Time for my daily nap with Lynn! We just ate lunch together (although she didn't share a thing with me, doggone it!)  and she and I are gonna climb onto the bed for a nice winter's afternoon rest. She loves it when I put my head against hers. Says it helps her stay warm. It also makes me sneeze, Pep. It's tickly. Oh, sorry about that. Zzzzzzzz... Whoa, what? Oh, hi, Tammo. You woke us up. Get comfy and settle in, will you? We need our rest. (You know how hard it is to guide Lynn and keep her safe, buddy.) Sigh. Back to napping.  Now what? Who just came in the room?? Boompa! Someone else who needs me to cuddle up with them. Be right back, Mom! Tell you what - so neither of you feel left out, I'll just stretch out between you. Sorry your arm is under me, Mom. But at least it will stay warm that way, right? What's that? My backside is on your chest? Well, again, I'm working hard even while napping and off duty to take care of you and keep you warm. Zzzzzzzz. ...
